Anne is a scion of the Gros family – a Gordion Knot of a family, the Burgundy equivalent of being Mr Smith in London and with more characters than War and Peace. Daughter of Francois (Domaine Francois Gros, which is now Anne’s estate) and niece to Jean (Domaine Jean Gros), Anne’s cousins are Bernard (Domaine Gros Frere et Soeur), Michel (Domaine Michel Gros) and Anne-Francois (Domaine A-F Gros). To add to the confusion, whilst Anne worked with her father, the estate was named Anne et Francois Gros. The confusion with cousin Anne-Francois’ wines is obvious.
